The alleged invasion of the home of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu by Nigerian soldiers has raised tensions in Abia state forcing leaders of the group across the different states of the federation to put their members on the alert.

According to PM Express, leaders of the group are said to be busy mobilizing their members for series of protests in some states in solidarity of Kanu believed to be under house arrest in his home tome, in Abia State.

The incident has forced the Governor of the state, Okezie Ikpeazu to declare curfew for three days to forestall any breakdown of law and order in the state as soldiers reportedly surrounded Kanu’s home to arrest him. They are also said to be ready to defend Kanu against any attack by soldiers.

The report by PM Express revealed that leaders of IPOB are mobilizing their members from Anambra, Imo, Ebonyi, Enugu and Abia. Some of the members who confirmed the development said they wanted to do the mass protests to alert the international community that Kanu’s life was in danger for their prompt response to prevent the Federal government from arresting Kanu and probably killing him.
